Big Ideas. Playful Minds
The Mission
We believe that the greatest adventure is the exploration of human thought. The Curious Minds Society exists to establish a vibrant community for those who never stopped asking "why." We are a sanctuary for collective inquiry, where the accident of birth meets the mechanics of the mind, and where every perspective is a tool for expansion.
The Pursuit
Our goal is to build a collective understanding of the world by diving deep into the foundations of human enquiry. We don't limit our curiosity to a single area; we stress-test ideas across the entire spectrum of knowledge:
The Hard Sciences: Unlocking the universe through Physics and Mathematics.
The Human Machine: Exploring the "pilot and the passenger" via Neuroscience and Psychology.
The Systems of Living: Analyzing how we interact through Economics and Philosophy.
The Spirit
We are a community dedicated to the serious pursuit of knowledge without taking ourselves too seriously. We recognize that while our topics may be heavy, our approach must be light. We bridge the gap between rigor and wonder, ensuring that every deep probe is balanced with a sense of discovery.
Be Curious
Our meetings are designed to be efficient, rigorous, and high-impact. We move quickly from curiosity to conversation through a structured 90 to 120-minute format.
The Venue: We primarily gather at the Providence Public Library\Newport Public Library, though special announced venues may be used for specific themes.
The Stimulus (Pre-Meeting): To maximize our time together, members receive a "Small Dose" of stimulus 48 hours in advance: a 10-minute video, a short essay, or a specific data set. We don't do "busy work" we do intellectual sharpening.
The Primer (20 Minutes): Every session begins with a curated presentation that lays the groundwork. We look at the core data, the prevailing theories, and the "cracks" in our current understanding.
The Inquiry (70–100 Minutes): The heart of the Society. We move into a facilitated Socratic discussion, using targeted questions to stress-test our perspectives and build a collective map of the topic.
Whether we are deconstructing the neuroscience of free will or the ethics of economic agency, we arrive prepared, stay focused, and leave with more questions than we started with.
We are currently utilizing Eventbrite to manage our gatherings. To receive notifications for our upcoming probes, please follow The Curious Minds Society at the link below.

Our inaugural event will be announced shortly. Identifying a venue that reflects the intellectual gravity of our mission is our current priority. Stay tuned for the reveal.
